I see the latest outlet for the money hungry celebrity/wannabe is to design a shoe collection. Now I', not sure what makes these starlets experts on footwear considering they are collected and dropped from house to premiere to bar and have probably walked only a few meters in their Louboutin stilettos however they have been putting pen to paper or at least claiming to do so in order to exploit us naive females into parting with our cash. Easy targets! Celebrity + shoes + gullible woman on the street = megabucks!
One such woman is Cheryl Cole who is now on her second shoe collection for Stylistpick.com. I was impressed by her cute shoe boots and day time ankle boots with prices around €180. However the sandals were slightly on the tacky side. More pole dancer than disco. However her summer collection has improved slightly with chunky block heeled sandals for €146 in this season coloured brights. Not cheap but could be worse.
Rachel Bilson revealed her new shoe collection last November called shoemint. The new styles can be viewed at www.shoemint.com. She has definitely done her homework and taken charge of this project. Rachel has created quite a diverse collection with a slightly more relaxed edge to her designs, especially for Summer.
With prices around €100 per pair and reviews that the quality is very good, it's definitely a range worth looking at.
The latest designer on the block is Chloe Green, Topshop heiress and one time "Made in Chelsea" cast member. Now true celeb she may not be but she certainly has the knack of shoe designing. Her brand CJD (Chloe Jade Green) complete with green soles has launched in Topshop and I will be racing down to have a try on at the earliest opportunity. Apart from the heel height being slightly scary I absolutely love the designs as they are different to what's around at the moment. Here is where my shoe fettish begins......
CJD €165 |
CJD €130 |
CJD €175 |
