Flash Lashes!

For work I normally like to keep my make-up a little toned down as opposed to the transvestite borderline I like to tease at the weekends. Just a really smooth and flawless make up base and a really good lick of mascara. However I am going through a bit of a mascara crisis at the moment ( Horrific I know, call Primetime) . I want my lashes thick and full looking but also with length and not clumped. Sounds like I'm looking for the impossible........

I have a little trick which I have been using this last while but it does involve always having two types of mascara in the make-up bag. Its a double whammy.... First after curling my eyelashes I put on two layers of L'oreal Voluminous Mascara (My oldest and most reliable)

As you can see the brush is quite thick and it does give my lashes loads of volume but does have the slightest tendency to clump too. So now for the next step.....

Step two I use L'oreal Telescopic mascara. The skinny brush on this mascara separates out any clumps from the first coats and also its so tiny that it reaches the inner and outer corners or the eye and the lower lashline easily, plus the final bonus is that telescopic is magic and it adds extra length to the tips with its tiny fibres and Harry Potter powers..... Boom!   I also must add that using telescopic on its own makes really pretty long lashes for a paired down effect without the volume.

Now I know whta you are thinking how can I get those effects from ONE mascara. Well I'm not sure any I have found have yet to beat my double whammy but they do come darn close.

Maybelline Falsies is not a bad follow up Mascara. The curved brush gives good access and the colour was black black giving a dramatic effect. I must admit I was pretty impressed with the fullness and volume, the only issue here was having to use a lash comb afterwards to remove clumps but otherwise impressive.

Rimmel Max Volume is great value for money but I did find the brush quite big and was more difficult to use on the lower lashline. There was a again a good amount of volume but there was also a lot of clumping and was slightly messier to use.

Finally L'oreal (Yes they are the Queens of mascara) Lash Architect. I was slightly impressed by this discovery. Aswell as extra length, I found that I also got some addes curl from this mascara. Less volume than the others but still a dramatic effect. The only downside to this was that I had to use seperate eye make-up remover as it didn't come off with my ordinary cleanser.

For now I'm going to stick with my double mazzy approach but will keep on the prowl for any new releases to keep my peepers popping.
